In 2018, EPA released a draft policy to reduce animal testing for skin sensitization. The Agency is reviewing data submitted by companies from 2015-2020 as well as the public comments received on the policy. This activity is ongoing and reflects EPA’s commitment to using NAMs for decision making in the TSCA program, when available and possible. Continue to implement NAMs to evaluate hazard, exposure and environmental fate for new and existing chemicalsĮPA has a long history of using NAMs, such as quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) and read-across, for hazard identification and fate characterization and modeling for exposure assessment.
